Outfall culverts that were replaced or repaired due to hurricane damage are required to have a manatee exclusion grate installed. These grates help prevent manatees from getting stuck in the culvert. The ELK 3.45, FOR 5.11 and a weir on the Pellam Waterway were found to be damaged. The cause of the damage is not known.
