CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (Nov. 4, 2025) – Charlotte County Community Services presents the films of Robert Altman at the Port Charlotte Library. This three-part film series explores the film and artistry of celluloid maverick and legendary director, Robert Altman.
The series will include tree Altman films as well as short discussion on the director’s film-making techniques and themes displayed in his work. This program is free and open to the public. Nov. 6 - MASH
Surgeons and medics defy the atrocities of the Korean War and military authority with humor and hijinks. Film was the inspiration for the successful situation comedy.
Nov. 13 - Mcabe and Mrs. Miller
A card hustler and a prostitute create a profitable casino in an old west mining town. Their enterprise is eventually threatened by a greedy corporation. This revisionist western garnered rave reviews in the early nineteen seventies.
Nov. 20 - Nashville
In the capital of country music, 24 interrelated characters interact and confront each other over the course of five days.
