Thursday, March 27, 6 p.m. A Musical Journey through Florida
Chris Kahl, Florida folk musician and storyteller, presents a historical journey through the state, featuring performances of songs covering a wealth of historical events, characters, and folklore. Reservations are required.
Thursday, April 3, 2 p.m. Oh, Florida: How America’s Weirdest State Influences the Rest of the Country
Writer and journalist Craig Pittman extols, with great humor, how Florida influences other states, making and breaking trends and causing many folks in other states to scratch their heads. Reservations required.
Wednesday, April 16, 5 p.m. A Motion Picture Paradise
David Morton, author and adjunct professor at the University of Central Florida, highlights how Florida has played a key role in the history of American cinema. This presentation discusses how Jacksonville became a “third coast” to the American film industry during the 1900’s and 1910’s. The Sunshine State has influenced and inspired numerous films and tv shows. Reservations are not required.
