Charlotte County Community Development will be presenting an Ordinance to the Board of County Commissioners at their regularly scheduled hearing on April 23, 2024, at 9 a.m. in Room 119 of the Charlotte County Administration Building, 18500 Murdock Circle, Port Charlotte, relating to the licensing requirements for taxicabs, fortunetellers, clairvoyants, palmists, etc. Due to the passing of House Bill 807 and F.S. 163.211, local licensing of occupations is expressly preempted to the State of Florida. Therefore, the Board of County Commissioners will be holding a public hearing to repeal local license requirements for taxicabs, fortunetellers, clairvoyants, palmists, etc. in Charlotte County. These trades will be regulated solely by the appropriate agencies.
