Project Description
High winds caused extensive damage to multiple components of Charlotte County’s antenna towers and associated equipment. Coaxial and grounding cables were pulled loose or disconnected, requiring cleaning, reattachment, and re-securing. Rubber grommets, microwave dish covers, and foam insulation wraps were blown off and need in-kind replacement. One large microwave dish (4 ft. diameter × 2.5 ft. deep) was misaligned and requires realignment. Several P25 antennas were damaged and leaning, with associated lightning suppressors affected.
Additional tower components damaged include N Male connectors for ½” Hiflex cables, microwave link systems, radome drum/shrouds, HP4-11SC microwave antennas (11 GHz), Aviat WTM4200 radios (11 GHz), UHF antennas, SE4192-SWBPADF D00 and D02 antennas, and miscellaneous antenna materials. Repairs will involve realignment, replacement of damaged components, reattachment of cables, and addressing microwave link and tower equipment functionality.
