Set Sustainable New Year’s Resolutions with the Florida Master Naturalist Program 

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (Dec.10, 2024) – Set a fun and sustainable New Years resolution for yourself by signing up for the Florida Master Naturalist Program Uplands Module, offered by UF/IFAS Extension Florida Sea Grant Charlotte County. The course will be taught on six consecutive Thursdays starting Jan. 9 and will include educational lectures on Florida’s unique ecosystems and wildlife as well as active field experiences in Charlotte and Sarasota Counties.  

Lectures will be in locations close to planned excursions. Course registration is $350 with the opportunity to pay an extra $75 for a paper copy of the learning materials. Registration will close on Jan. 2, 2025. 

The Florida Master Naturalist Program is an adult education program developed by the University of Florida and provided by participating organizations. Courses have been offered in Charlotte County since 2009. Upon graduation from the Freshwater Module, Uplands Module, and Coastal Module, students earn the certification of “Florida Master Naturalist”. Florida Sea Grant plans to offer the Coastal Module in Spring 2025.
